About Bright Sparks Studio

I have found myself wondering, while doodling, why we write, draw, and scribble in the first place.

In our home, creativity shows up in different ways. For my husband, it's stories. He grew up on travel tales from elders and books, so his imagination has always been well travelled. For me and our children, art is often how feelings come out. My daughter and son express themselves through drawings and colours, and for a while they tried to do that on anything they could reach.

That season of wall "artwork" is behind us now, thankfully. These days, their creativity lives where it belongs: on paper.

It started simply, with requests for printed colouring pages, and then for me to draw pictures they could colour. Like many parents, I quickly discovered that you can only print (and draw) so much before the piles grow and bedtime negotiations begin.

Colouring books became a natural next step. At first it was practical. But over time it became something more: a small daily ritual. A screen-free pause. A quiet part of the day where little hands stay busy and busy minds can settle.

That's also why the pages are single-sided, with a blank page behind each colouring page. The blank page is intentionally there for your child to use freely. Some days it's a doodle. Some days it's a story. Some days it's a storm cloud. All of it counts. It's a simple way to give children space to create, process, and express what they might not have words for yet.

These are books I made for my kids, and I'm sharing them with the world in the hope they bring other families a little more calm, connection, and creativity.

Because the moments we share today become the memories we carry tomorrow.

Happy colouring,
Karuna
